Why This Website?
قال الله تعالى: ﴿أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُ مُنْكِرُونَ﴾. إنّ حقًّا على جميع العقلاء المكلَّفين أن يتعرَّفوا إلى هذا الرسول الكريم وشمائله الحميدة وخصائصه المجيدة؛ فإذا كانت العقلاء تطمح إلى معرفة عظماء العالم وكبرائه، فإنّ أحقَّ ما يجب أن تطمح إليه هو التعرُّف إلى سيد السادات وفخر الكائنات، الذي رفعه الله تعالى أعلى الدرجات، ورقَّاه فوق جميع أهل المراتب والمقامات ﷺ. وقد لخَّص العلّامة الشيخ عبد الله سراج الدين الحسيني رحمه الله وجوب هذا التعرُّف في خمسة وجوه، هي الأساس الذي قام عليه هذا الموقع:
Allah Most High says: “Or do they not know their Messenger, so they reject him?” (Qur'an 23:69). It is a duty upon every person of sound mind to come to know this noble Messenger, his praiseworthy character, and his glorious qualities. If intelligent people aspire to know the world's great figures, then what is most worthy of their aspiration is knowing the Master of Masters and the Pride of Creation, whom Allah raised to the highest of ranks ﷺ. The erudite scholar Shaykh ʿAbdullāh Sirāj ad-Dīn al-Ḥusaynī (may Allah have mercy on him) summarized the obligation of this knowledge in five reasons — the very foundation upon which this website is built:
أنّ الله تعالى أمر العباد أن يؤمنوا بهذا الرسول الكريم ﷺ فقال: ﴿آمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَالنُّورِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْنَا﴾. والإيمان به ﷺ يتطلَّب من العباد أن يعرفوا فضل هذا النبي الكريم، ورفعة مستواه على غيره، وما أسبغ الله تعالى عليه من الكمالات النفسية، وما أدَّبه من الآداب الكريمة الرضية، وما وهبه من الخُلُق العظيم والخَلْق الحسن الكريم؛ فجعل جوهره الكريم عاليًا على سائر الأفراد والأجناس، بحيث لا يُقاس بغيره من الناس.
Allah commanded His servants to believe in this noble Messenger ﷺ: “Believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Light We have sent down.” Faith in him requires knowing his excellence, his elevated rank above all others, the perfections Allah bestowed upon him, the noble manners with which He refined him, and the magnificent character He granted him — making his noble essence exalted above all individuals and kinds, beyond comparison with any other human being.
أنّ الله تعالى أمر العباد باتباع النبي ﷺ فقال: ﴿قُلْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ﴾، وقال: ﴿وَاتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ﴾. وهذا يتطلَّب البحث عن أعماله ﷺ وأقواله وأحواله، والتعرُّف إلى سجاياه الكريمة وأخلاقه العظيمة ليُتأسَّى به ويُتَّبَع اتباعًا كاملًا شاملًا. ومن ثَمّ كان أصحاب النبي ﷺ يحرصون كل الحرص على تتبُّع أفعاله وأقواله وأحواله وآدابه وأخلاقه، بل كانوا يحرصون على تتبُّع عاداته ﷺ.
Allah commanded His servants to follow the Prophet ﷺ: “Say: if you love Allah, then follow me — Allah will love you and forgive you your sins,” and: “Follow him, that you may be guided.” This requires studying his deeds, sayings, and states, and knowing his noble traits and magnificent character so that he may be emulated completely. Thus his Companions were utterly devoted to following his actions, words, states, manners, and character — indeed, even his personal habits ﷺ.
أنّ الله تعالى أوجب على المؤمنين أن يحبوا النبي ﷺ فوق محبة الآباء والأبناء والأزواج والعشيرة والتجارة والأموال. ولا ريب أنّ أسباب المحبة ترجع إلى أنواع الجمال والكمال والنوال، كما قرَّره الإمام الغزالي رضي الله عنه وغيره؛ وهذه الصفات الكاملة اجتمعت وتأصَّلت وتحقَّقت على أكمل وجوهها في السيد الأكرم سيدنا محمد ﷺ، الذي هو مجمع صفات الكمال ومحاسن الخصال. والمعرفة هي سبب المحبة؛ فكلَّما زادت المعرفة بمحاسن المحبوب، زادت المحبة له.
Allah made it obligatory upon the believers to love the Prophet ﷺ above the love of parents, children, spouses, kin, trade, and wealth. The causes of love all return to beauty, perfection, and generosity — as Imam al-Ghazālī and others established — and these perfect qualities were gathered, rooted, and realized in their most complete form in our Master Muhammad ﷺ, the meeting-point of all perfection. And knowledge is the cause of love: the more one knows of the beloved's virtues, the greater one's love becomes.
أنّ اطلاع الإنسان على أوصافه ﷺ العظيمة وشمائله الكريمة يُعطي صورةً علميةً تنطبع في القلب، وترتسم في المخيلة، كأنه قد رأى محبوبه ﷺ. وقد كان ﷺ يذكر لأصحابه أوصاف الرسل قبله ويقرِّب إليهم ذلك بأشباههم، حتى إنهم يصيرون بحالٍ كأنهم قد رأوهم؛ وذلك أقرب سبيل للتعرف بهم، وأقرب طريق للتحبب فيهم.
Learning his magnificent descriptions and noble traits ﷺ imprints a vivid image upon the heart and mind, as though one had seen the beloved ﷺ with one's own eyes. The Prophet ﷺ himself would describe to his Companions the Messengers who came before him, likening them to people they knew, until it was as though they had actually seen them — for this is the nearest way to know them and to love them.
أنّ في ذكر شمائله ﷺ وسماع أوصافه ونعوته، تحيا قلوب المحبين، وتطرب أرواحهم وعقولهم، ويزداد حبهم، ويتحرك اشتياقهم. قال العارف الكبير الشيخ أبو مدين رضي الله عنه: «ونحيا بذكراكم إذا لم نراكم». فما فات المحبين أن ينظروه بأعينهم، فقد آتاهم بالسمع هَدْيُ شمائله صلى الله عليه وسلم.
In the remembrance of his traits ﷺ and the hearing of his descriptions, the hearts of the lovers come alive, their souls and minds rejoice, their love increases, and their longing stirs. The great gnostic Shaykh Abū Madyan said: “We live by your remembrance when we do not see you.” What the lovers missed of beholding him with their eyes, they are granted through hearing the guidance of his noble traits ﷺ.
من أجل هذه الوجوه الخمسة أُنشئ هذا الموقع: ليُعرِّف بسيدنا محمد رسول الله ﷺ — بشمائله وسيرته وأقواله ومدائحه والصلاة عليه — بلغات العالم، حتى يتعرَّف إليه كل إنسان بلغته التي يفهمها، فيؤمن به ويتبعه ويحبه، وتنطبع صورته الشريفة في قلبه، ويحيا قلبه بذكره ﷺ.
For these five reasons this website was created: to introduce our Master Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — his character, his life, his sayings, the odes in his praise, and the prayer upon him — in the languages of the world, so that every person may come to know him in the language they understand: to believe in him, follow him, love him, carry his noble image in their heart, and find their heart brought to life by his remembrance ﷺ.
