Section Three: Family System or (Personal Status)

الباب الأول: النكاح والطلاق والعدة والرضاع وما يتعلق بها

Chapter One: Nikah (Marriage), Divorce, 'Iddah (waiting period), Breastfeeding, and Related Matters

قال رسول الله ﷺ «إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ مَنْ تَرْضَوْنَ خُلُقَهُ وَدِينَهُ فَزَوِّجُوهُ، إِنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا تَكُنْ فِتْنَةٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَفَسَادٌ عَرِيضٌ».

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'If there comes to you someone whose character and religion you are pleased with, then marry him; if you do not, there will be fitnah on the earth and widespread corruption.'

قال رسول الله ﷺ «أَكْمَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِيمَانًا أَحْسَنُهُمْ خُلُقًا وَخِيَارُكُمْ خِيَارُكُمْ لِنِسَائِهِ».

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The most complete of the believers in faith are those best in character, and the best of you are those best to their wives.'

قال رسول الله ﷺ «إِنَّ الْوَلَدَ مَبْخَلَةٌ مَجْبَنَةٌ، مَجْهَلَةٌ، مَحْزَنَةٌ».

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The child is a source of stinginess, cowardice, ignorance, and sorrow.'

قال رسول الله ﷺ «كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَمَسْؤُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ، فَالإِمَامُ رَاعٍ وَمَسْؤُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ، وَالرَّجُلُ فِي أَهْلِهِ رَاعٍ وَهُوَ مَسْؤُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ، وَالمَرْأَةُ فِي بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا رَاعِيَةٌ وَهِيَ مَسْؤُولَةٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهَا، وَالخَادِمُ فِي مَالِ سَيِّدِهِ رَاعٍ وَهُوَ مَسْؤُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ، وَالرَّجُلُ فِي مَالِ أَبِيهِ رَاعٍ وَمَسْؤُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ، فَكُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْؤُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ».

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'All of you are shepherds and are responsible for your flocks. The imam is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock; a man is a shepherd over his family and is responsible for his flock; a woman is a shepherd in her husband's house and is responsible for her flock; a servant is a shepherd in his master's property and is responsible for his flock; and a man is a shepherd over his father's property and is responsible for his flock. So all of you are shepherds and all of you are responsible for your flocks.'

قال رسول الله ﷺ «لَا يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ بِامْرَأَةٍ إِلَّا وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ».

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A man should not be alone with a woman except with a mahram.'

قال رسول الله ﷺ «لا يَدْخُلْ هَؤُلَاءِ عَلَيْكُمْ».

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do not allow these to enter upon you.'

قال رسول الله ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَاليَوْمِ الآخِرِ فَإِذَا شَهِدَ أَمْرًا فَلْيَتَكَلَّمْ بِخَيْرٍ أَوْ لِيَسْكُتْ، وَاسْتَوْصُوا بِالنِّسَاءِ، فَإِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ خُلِقَتْ مِنْ ضِلَعٍ، وَإِنَّ أَعْوَجَ شَيْءٍ فِي الضِّلَعِ أَعْلَاهُ، إِنْ ذَهَبْتَ تُقِيمُهُ كَسَرْتَهُ، وَإِنْ تَرَكْتَهُ لَمْ يَزَلْ أَعْوَجَ، اسْتَوْصُوا بِالنِّسَاءِ خَيْرًا».

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, when he witnesses something let him speak good or remain silent. And be good to women; for woman was created from a rib, and the most crooked part of the rib is its upper part—if you try to straighten it you will break it, and if you leave it it will remain crooked. So be good to women.'

قال رسول الله ﷺ «نَعَمْ صِلي أُمَّكِ».

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Yes — pray for your mother.'

الباب الثاني: المواريث والوصايا والهبة

Chapter Two: Inheritance, Wills, and Gifts

قال رسول الله ﷺ «اتَّقُوا اللهَ وَاعْدِلُوا فِي أَوْلادِكُمْ».

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Fear Allah and be just in dealing with your children.'
