The Qur'an

The Qur'an is the Word of God revealed to His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is the constitution of Muslims, their proof, and their source of guidance. It was revealed in Arabic over twenty‑three years, and its text is preserved completely in the hearts of the memorizers and between the covers of copies of the Qur'an throughout the world.

The Qur'an is the eternal miracle of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ; it is the speech of God by which He challenged mankind and jinn to produce its likeness, and they were unable to do so—the challenge remains. Its miraculousness is not limited to one aspect, such as eloquence or foreknowledge of the unseen, but is comprehensive: in its composition, its legislation, and the signs within it that a discerning student in every age can recognize.

The Qur'an is not the work of a human being. How could an unlettered man who grew up in a desert environment, distant from centers of civilization and philosophical traditions, bring forth a book containing the finest legislation and the deepest truths? Greatest geniuses in history may excel in their fields but within limits, whereas the Qur'an remains an inexhaustible spring; every scholar and writer finds in it what resonates with his discipline and a proof that it is a revelation from the All‑Wise, All‑Knowing.

Muslims believe in the revealed books of God, such as the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses, the Psalms of David, and the Gospel of Jesus, peace be upon them. Yet the Qur'an is the guardian over those books: what corresponds with it is the confirmed truth, and what conflicts with it is that which has come under alteration. We respect all the prophets and honor their messages, but we follow the Qur'an as the balance by which we weigh reports and remain steadfast on the path of God.

القرآن الكريم هو كلام الله تعالى المنزَّل على نبيه محمد ﷺ، وهو دستور المسلمين وحجتهم ومصدر هدايتهم. نزل بالعربية على مدى ثلاثة وعشرين عامًا، ويُحفظ نصّه كاملًا في صدور الحفاظ وبين دفتي المصاحف في كل بقاع الأرض.

القرآن الكريم هو المعجزة الخالدة للنبي محمد ﷺ، وهو كلام الله الذي تحدى به الإنس والجن أن يأتوا بمثله فعجزوا، ولا يزال التحدي قائماً. ومصدر إعجازه ليس جانباً واحداً كالبلاغة أو الإخبار بالمغيبات فحسب، بل هو إعجاز كلي في نظمه وتشريعه وما يحويه من إشارات علمية لا يدركها إلا الدارس المتفحص في كل عصر.

لم يكن القرآن من تأليف بشر، فكيف يتسنى لرجل أمي نشأ في بيئة صحراوية منعزلة عن مراكز الحضارة وفلسفات الأمم أن يأتي بكتاب يحوي أرقى التشريعات وأعمق الحقائق؟ إن العباقرة في التاريخ قد يبدعون في فنونهم، لكن سبقهم له حدود، بينما القرآن يظل معيناً لا ينضب، يجد فيه كل عالم وأديب ما يوافق تخصصه ودليلاً على أنه تنزيل من حكيم خبير.

يؤمن المسلمون بكتب الله المنزلة، كصحف إبراهيم وموسى، وزبور داود، وإنجيل عيسى عليهم السلام، ولكن القرآن هو المهيمن على تلك الكتب؛ فما وافقه منها فهو الحق الثابت، وما خالفه فهو مما دخله التحريف. نحن نحترم جميع الأنبياء ونقدر رسالاتهم، لكننا نتبع القرآن الكريم بصفته الميزان الذي نزن به الأخبار ونستقيم به على منهج الله.
