Closeness to the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Judgment

«أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ عَلَيَّ صَلَاةً»

The closest of people to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who sent the most blessings upon me.

Beyond the immediate spiritual reward, this hadith connects Salawat to a person's proximity to the Prophet ﷺ in the Hereafter. Frequency and consistency of this practice become a measure of the believer's bond with him — not wealth, status, or era, but the simple, repeated act of sending peace and blessings.

Sheikh Abdullah Siraj al-Din also records that the one who sends abundant blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ will be among those sheltered under the shade of God's Throne on the Day when there is no shade but His — a hadith narrated by Anas (may God be pleased with him).

• Closeness (awla al-nas bi) is determined by devotion expressed through Salawat, not by lineage or geography
• This hadith motivates Muslims to make Salawat a constant, habitual practice rather than an occasional one
• The measure is abundance (aktharuhum) — the more one sends, the closer one draws
