محمدٌ أشرف الأعراب والعجم — الإمام شرف الدين البوصيري (ت 696هـ)

قصيدة فريدة في نظمها؛ كل شطر من أشطارها يبدأ باسم «محمد» ﷺ، فجاءت مدحًا خالصًا متتابعًا لخير الخلق ﷺ: أخلاقه وشمائله وفضله وشفاعته. وهي من أشهر ما يُنشد في الموالد ومجالس المديح.

Al-Qaṣīda al-Muḥammadiyya — Imam Sharaf ad-Dīn al-Būṣīrī

A poem unique in its form: every hemistich begins with the name 'Muhammad' ﷺ, producing an unbroken litany of praise of the Best of Creation ﷺ — his character, his virtues, his rank and his intercession. It is among the most beloved pieces chanted in mawlid gatherings and assemblies of praise.

مُحَمَّدٌ أَشْرَفُ الأعْرَابِ والعَجَمِ
مُحَمَّدٌ خَيْرُ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى قَدَمِ

Muhammad is the noblest of all Arabs and non-Arabs, indeed the best of all who walk upon the earth.

محمدٌ باسطُ المَعْرُوف جَامَعَةً
محمدٌ صاحبُ الإحسانِ والكرمِ

Muhammad universally extends goodness, embodying benevolence and generosity.

محمدٌ تاجُ رُسْلِ الله قاطِبَةً
محمدٌ صادقُ الأقوالِ والكلمِ

Muhammad is the crown of all God's messengers, ever truthful in his sayings and words.

محمدٌ ثابِتُ المِيثاقِ حافِظُهُ
محمدٌ طيبُ الأخلاقِ والشيمِ

Muhammad is firm in his covenant and preserves it, possessing excellent character and noble traits.

محمدٌ خبِيَتْ بالنُّورِ طِينَتُهُ
محمدٌ لم يزل نوراً من القدمِ

Muhammad's very essence was kneaded with light, for he has been a light from eternity.

محمدٌ حاكِمٌ بالْعَدْلِ ذُو شَرَفٍ
محمدٌ معدنُ الإنعامِ والحكمِ

Muhammad is a just ruler of great honor, the very source of blessings and wisdom.

محمدٌ خَيْرُ خَلْقِ الله مِنْ مُضَرٍ
محمَّدٌ خَيْرُ رُسْلِ الله كُلِّهِمِ

Muhammad is the best of God's creation from the tribe of Mudar, and indeed the best of all God's messengers.

محمدٌ دِينُهُ حَقَّ النّذِيرُ بِهِ
محمدٌ مجملٌ حقاً على علمِ

Muhammad's religion is truth, and he is its Warner, truly glorified with profound knowledge.

محمدٌ ذكرهُ روحٌ لأنفسنا
محمدٌ شكرهُ فرضٌ على الأممِ

The remembrance of Muhammad is a spirit for our souls, and gratitude to him is an obligation upon all nations.

محمدٌ زينةُ الدنيا وبهجتها
محمدٌ كاشفُ الغُمَّاتِ والظلمِ

Muhammad is the adornment and splendor of this world, dispelling sorrows and darkness.

محمدٌ سيدٌ طابتْ مناقبهُ
محمدٌ صاغهُ الرحمنُ بالنعمِ

Muhammad is a master whose virtues are pure, fashioned by the Most Merciful with abundant blessings.

محمدٌ صفوةُ الباري وخيرتهُ
محمد طاهرٌ من سائر التهمِ

Muhammad is the chosen one and the best of the Creator, pure from all accusations.

محمد ضاحكٌ للضيفِ مكرمةً
محمَّدٌ جارُهُ والله لَمْ يُضَمِ

Muhammad smiles at his guest in honor, and by God, his neighbor is never wronged.

محمدٌ طابتِ الدنيا ببعثتهِ
محمَّدٌ جاء بالآياتِ والحِكَمِ

The world became good with Muhammad's prophetic mission, for he came bearing signs and wisdom.

محمدٌ يومَ بعثِ الناسِ شافعنا
محمدٌ نورهُ الهادي من الظلمِ

Muhammad is our intercessor on the Day of Resurrection, and his light is our guide from darkness.

محمدٌ قائمٌ للهِ ذو هممٍ
محمَّدٌ خاتِمٌ لِلرُّسُلِ كُلِّهمِ

Muhammad stands for God with great resolve, and he is the seal of all messengers.
